This Is We

Year: 2019
Client: RMIT University

Videos don’t grow on trees. It’s an arduous process involving a lot of doing, making, re-doing…and waiting. A story in 3 acts to introduce RMIT University’s Bachelor of Film & Video.

I was in charge of the concept and script.

Script

– Act 1 –

We do traditional
We do scripts,
script writing,
script revisioning,
script discarding,
and then script writing again.

We do shotlists
and storyboarding.
We do lights.
We do sound.
Camera,
slate, set, action!

We do “fix it in post”
With fast cuts,
dynamic effects,
vibrant coloring,
and finally,
rendering.

And rendering.

And rendering.

We do festivals,
We do awards,
We do experimental.

We make films.

– Act 2 –

We do commercials.
We do brands.
Big brands,
small brands,
new brands,
old brands.

We do fashion,
technology,
travel,
food,
and drinks.

We do one-hour shoots,
12-hour shoots,
24-hour shoots,

And we hurry up.
And wait.

We do infomercials,
editorials,
and teleshopping.

We do theatrical trailers,
TVC,
and public service announcements.

We do fast-paced,
slow-mo,
and even time in reverse.

We make commercials.
Really good ones.

– Act 3 –

We do digital.
We do platforms,
mobile,
tablets,
laptops,
and watches.
We do Youtube,
and Instagram,
and Vimeo,
and whatever social media comes up with next.

We do tutorials,
cooking,
and make-up,
and video logs.

We do whacky content,
serious content,
viral content,
tearjerking content.

We do documenting,
creating,
inventing,
imagining,
and re-imagining.

We do big,
and we do small.

We do focused,
and we do random.

We do whatever we can think of.
But most of all…

We do stories.
We make videos.
About humans.
About you.

Your story.
Your way.
